REVIEW: Aritaum Pore Master Primer (Acne-prone/scarred/big pores)
I have enlarged pores as well as some deep acne scarring, so I thought
that a good primer would help with this. Prior to this, I have been using the Face Shop's
Velvet primer. I didn't really notice much of a difference so I thought it was time to try a new one.
I heard a lot of people rave about this primer, especially saying that it is a dupe to
the costly Benefit's Porefessional primer. So I thought I would
get it myself and see what the hype is all about!
I was able to find this at my local Aritaum (located inside an H-mart).
Nice tip applicator~ |
Ingredients |
Skin-colored/nude tinted primer |
SMELL: Plastic-y/silicony smell?
SIZE: 25 mL of product, comes in a nice squeeze tube the length of my hand.
PRICE: In-store for $10.00! (not including tax)
Which was surprising because I thought it would be double the
price in Korea here, since other Korean products usually are. I believe this is
around 8,000 - 10,000 Won in Korea?
Also, VERY affordable compared to the Benefit's Porefessional ($31.00)

EFFECTIVENESS: A small amount goes a long way. As the
salesperson told me in the store, all you need to cover just your nose
is the size of a small dot.
It does seem to smooth out pores/fine lines, as well as
elongate the wear-time of your foundation/BB cream/etc.
I used this primer on half of my face and left the other half bare then applied
my BB cushion. I noticed that after ~3 hours, the side I had put primer on
maintained more coverage, stayed intact, and had less creases/wrinkling.
I have used the Benefit primer before and did not notice much of a
difference between this one and that one, so it is a much more affordable option~

Left side of face bare |
Left side of face after primer application (Did not cover up all more pores, but noticeably smoother/blurred) |
Left side of my face (w/ primer) v. Right side of my face (w/o primer)
after BB cushion application
WITHOUT flash
I used my Missha Line Friends cushion
Left side of my face (w/ primer) v. Right side of my face (w/o primer)
after BB cushion application
WITH flash
I don't see too much of a difference when I put my makeup on, but the longevity was
lengthened on the side with the primer. Longevity was impacted, whereas
appearance of the makeup was not.
RATING: 4.5/5 Stars
PROS:
Applies smoothly
Covers pores/wrinkles
Makes makeup last longer
Blurs out your face before makeup application (Photoshop effect)
Covers pores/wrinkles
Makes makeup last longer
Blurs out your face before makeup application (Photoshop effect)
CONS:
Didn't cover all pores
Smells weird (but is typically the smell of most primers anyways)
RECOMMEND?:
I would recommend this product! (It is a good dupe of the
Benefit's professional)
I think it will work especially well for those who have smaller pores/less
scars than I do. It would give you a more flawless photoshopped effect~

Hi, I find your blog searchig for reviews of this product and I see that it doesn't work very well for you.
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me what´s the best primer you have used?
I have the same problem with my pores.
Thanks.
Hi! Among the primers I have used so far (not many, only about 4), this one is the "best." I have yet to find a primer that is able to completely cover my pores, but when and if I do, I will definitely make a post for it! This primer isn't the best at covering my pores, but it does help make the make up last longer. Hope this helped! :)
